Genuinely rare opportunity to own what must be one of the most lowest mileage iconic 205gti’s anywhere.

Bought new from Bristol Peugeot in 1988 this unmolested, unrestored example has spent its whole life garaged and cared for in affluent London suburbia by husband and wife owners for 33 years. Retaining the original hand written receipt, that’s only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to comprehensive, chronologically recorded service history, enough to fill a snooker table to support its incredibly low mileage.

As you can imagine, any car to have been subject to often bi-annual services and fluid changes, it really does drive like new and holds its own on the motorway and is sharp as a tack on the country roads. Slick gear changes married to its revvy 1.6 engine is a real joy. Bodywork wise, there is literally ‘no rust’ on this car.

Mechanically all the big jobs have been taken care of whenever needed with new cambelt fitted as well as other work totalling over £1500 in Feb 2020. Over Christmas the car was given all new fluids, sparks and leads, and various other preventive maintenance work for reassurance. Breezed through the MOT Jan 2021 so 12 month care free motoring.

Having been treated to recent upholstery work to correct the softening bolsters, together with sunroof removal and refit, it really is ready to be enjoyed and for those 4 new Dunlop’s to hit the road.

This car has never been restored and is an honest car and so does have a couple of beauty spots which the new owner may or may not want to correct, namely some work in the engine bay and small wheel scuffs, to me they add to the character, this after all is not a new car. However for a 33 year old a French car, it’s truly a rare survivor and is realistically priced for the low miles, low ownership and staggering originality. Find me another like this.
